The Institute operates as a distinct administrative unit at the University of Chicago, reporting to the Dean of the Division of Biological Sciences (BSD) and has a distinct administrative unit at Argonne, reporting to the Associate Lab Director for the Computing, Environment, and Life Sciences Directorate, Dr. Rick Stevens. IGSB has an independent core administration and budget to manage its administrative functions.
Dr. Aprison is the IGSB Education & Outreach Director who develops and oversees academic training programs on campus through the auspices of the P50 NIH Conte Center for Computational Neuropsychiatric Genomics, the P50 NIH NIDA Center of Excellence, and the Ph.D. program in Genetics, Genomics, & Systems Biology (GGSB) at the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Graduate Minority Committee (Co-Chair) and the Faculty Advisory Committee of the Collegiate Scholars Program. Dr. Aprison is Senior Lecturer in the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division of the College.
Shelly Wright, Director of Research & Operations for the Institute for Genomics & Systems Biology, works with faculty and administrative leaders in the planning, initiation, and management of complex research initiatives across all areas of the IGSB. Her responsibilities include overseeing all areas of IGSB operations.
